In our March issue (on newsstands now), editor in chief Kim France announced the Lucky caption-writing contest. We're giving away a $1,000 shopping spree at Barneys New York Co-op to the person who can write the best text for four pages of our famous spring shoe guide.
Here are the rules:
1. Watch your word repetition. The goal is to not use any descriptive word—be it a noun ("satin" or "platform") or an adjective or adverb ("cool" or "really")—on any of the pages more than once.
2. There are some words and phrases that have worked their way onto the banned list at Lucky. Avoid them at all costs! They are:
adorable
bling
fashionista
fave
fierce
flair
funky
groovy
indulgence
kooky
run, don't walk
shopaholic
the final word in
whimsical
food references used to describe a nonfood item (as in "a delicious shade of pink")
How to enter:
First, download the PDF and save it to your desktop. Reopen the saved PDF and write your captions directly into the document. Once you're done, save your file again, using your first and last name as the file name (e.g., maggie_smith.pdf). Then go to the entry form, fill it out, upload your completed PDF, and submit it.
Good luck!
