Four Girls, Four Cities

The chicest residents of London, Los Angeles, New York and Paris share their favorite places to shop for everything from lingerie to steak.

Creatures of Comfort

If indie designers are your thing, head to Creatures of Comfort. The shop carries its own line, as well as Patrik Ervell, LD Tuttle and the best selection of Isabel Marant in L.A. 7971 Melrose Ave., 323-655-7855, creaturesofcomfort.com

Des Kohan

If you like high-concept designers (and have cash to burn), head to Des Kohan. Formerly a warehouse, it’s filled with incredible pieces from Alaïa, Viktor & Rolf and the like. 671 Cloverdale Ave., 323-857-0200, deskohan.com

Axe Restaurant

My favorite restaurant in the world is Axe (pronounced “a-shay”), in Venice. It’s just fresh, clean, local food. Go for brunch and be sure to order the massive nine-grain pancake for the table to share. Everyone will thank you for it. 1009 Abbot Kinney Blvd., 310-664-9787, axerestaurant.com

Heath Ceramics

Anyone I know with taste gets plates from Heath Ceramics. They use them at Axe. 7525 Beverly Blvd., 323-965-0800, heathceramics.com

Mona Moore

Like your edgiest friend’s closet, accessories and shoes boutique Mona Moore has a tightly edited collection of dark-but-pretty pieces. 1112 Abbot Kinney Blvd., 310-452-4070, monamoore.com

Lost & Found

A bohemian paradise, Lost & Found occupies an entire block. I like the Il Bisonte wallets, amazing wooden bowls and French tunics I wear as nightgowns. 6320 Yucca St., 323-856-5872, lostandfoundshop.com

Film Biz Recycling

My husband and i find unique home items at Film Biz Recycling. It’s a great nonprofit that sells reclaimed movie props. You might end up with a desk Al Pacino sat at in his last film. 540 President St., basement level, Brooklyn, 347-384-2336, filmbizrecycling.org

Late Night Chameleon Cafe

The most revolutionary store in london, Late Night Chameleon Cafe, is in a very run-down area, but it’s worth the trip. The interiors look like the Millennium Falcon’s from Star Wars, that is, if it were full of art books and clothes from Haider Ackermann and Toga. You have to make an appointment to get in, but you won’t feel pressured to buy. 18 Shacklewell Lane, 44-207-275-7265, ln-cc.com

Bimba & Lola

i always get compliments on anything I wear from Bimba & Lola, a Spanish label that’s new to the U.K. Shop here for bright, colorful separates and really cute, not-too-expensive bags. Westfield London Shopping Center, Ariel Way, 44-208-743-8528, bimbaylola.es

Rose Bakery

It’s fun to people-watch at the Rose Bakery. Located on the top floor of the Dover Street Market (the cutting-edge retail store), it’s full of fashion-industry types who come for the casual atmosphere, delicious carrot-and-ginger juice and healthy specials. 17-18 Dover St., 44-207-518-0680
