Best Urban Shopping Streets

These strips are so insanely packed with designer stores and stellar vintage spots, it's completely worth spending a major portion of your vacation (not to mention your vacation budget) exploring them. Venice Beach's Abbot Kinney features some of L.A.'s hippest shops (including modern home design mecca A+R and slouchy-cool clothing boutique Heist). Brooklyn's Smith Street in Cobble Hill has a similiar indie-cool mix (edgy boutique Article&—formerly Dear Fieldbinder—plus an outpost of cult-favorite designer chainlet Bird). In Chicago, skip the Mag Mile and head to North Damen, where beloved big names (Marc by Marc Jacobs) mix with local ones (the niche-y Roslyn). Magazine Street in New Orleans has everything from '60s dresses at Lili Vintage to current-season Valentino heels at Cece Shoe. On Austin's South Congress, find A.L.C. tops at By George, '70s boots at Feathers and tons of food trucks right nearby.
