ProjectNursery.com: A White Nursery, Would You Dare?
The following is a guest post from Melisa Fluhr & Pam Ginocchio, co-founders of ProjectNursery.com.
Crisp white clothing and all white interiors seem impossible after having children. But lately, it’s sneaking up on us as one of the hottest looks for baby’s room. Just ask stylist to the stars and now trendsetting mom, Rachel Zoe who decked her son Skylar’s nursery in clean neutrals.
The big question then becomes, is it really practical? And we say yes. Mixing bright whites with subtle shades of gray, beige and other natural tones softens the room, giving it a warm and cozy feel while taking the pressure off of keeping it bright white. Here are some tips to help you achieve this white hot look:
Accessorize with plush blankets, decorative pillows and fluffy sheepskin rugs. They’ll soften a modern design and make tummy time a blast.
Add pattern or texture to walls. Forgo bold paint colors and bring in white wallpaper with shades of silver or gold, as seen below:
Or, consider a natural grass cloth wall covering for a calming neutral hue.
Select light furniture finishes. French gray, distressed linen or vintage buttercream are just some of the new finishes making headlines at Restoration Hardware’s Baby & Child.
