I bought these on one of those days where a new piece of footwear is the only cure. I usually stay in the white and black family, but now they have these really cool, way-less-bright, stonewashed colors. I’m SO into them. With little shorts and a loose black tank, they are my summer weekend uniform. If you’re in or near NYC, the Converse store in Soho is amazeballs.
It is hard for me to find stuff from Elizabeth and James that I don’t like. This one is backless, so you can’t really wear a bra, which is one of the things I like about it.
I missed the first round of Soludos x Opening Ceremony collaboration, so I doubled up on this round. They’re kind of perfect for running around the city and avoiding the grimy NYC streets, and I love these Liberty florals.
I bought three T-shirts—two tanks and a regular T—from Petit Bateau online. Regular PB merchandise is great (their kids’ stuff wears like iron) but every year they re-issue a “heritage” collection of super-fine knits in wonderful colors that are perfect for layering, or wearing under light dresses. I always buy one white, one black, and one color—this year, it’s bright orange. The cut is perfect—slim, but not skintight, with flattering necklines. I have to replenish every year because I wear them out. They’re on sale now on the website, so I might have a pick up a couple more.
With September in our sights, I decided it was time to re-invest in a pair of boots. I bought a pair of Rachel Comey's two years ago and they've lasted well enough to warrant a return to her website. After some digging, I settled on the Ruger in black, which I know will last me for years to come. Trust me, there's no better shoe (men's or women's) than Rachel Comey. Built tough.
I recently relocated from Brooklyn to Harlem and what I miss most about my former digs is the superb vintage shopping. So I dedicated my weekend to re-exploring my old 'hood. And just like magic I found the perfect slightly casual... yet also dressy romper at Beacon’s Closet in Park Slope. It’s as if this Vena Cava “FDR” Romper appeared from the heavens! It was a steal at $20 because it was originally priced around $400. Quite the bargain!
I’ve become the guy in the office who is constantly stacking new cuffs, wrap bracelets, and random pieces of string on my wrist. I’m sure I’ll soon have a collection up to my elbow. I recently came across this statement-making Pretty Edgy Skull Bracelet from SoHo Hearts and fell in love. I can’t wait to make it my new everyday arm candy.”
I needed a great well-crafted bag to transition into fall. When I spotted the WILL Leather Goods McQueen bag (named after actor Steve McQueen), I ordered immediately. The beautiful natural color is great for any season and can transition from day to evening. Plus, it’s unisex, and looks great on women too.
