Lucky Haul: Leopards and Skulls Edition

In my running obsession for Jessica Rabbit-meets-Mad Men pencil skirts, this one from J. Crew has made the cut. And, in fact, I'm wearing it right this very second with a heather-grey tank; a skinny, neon-pink belt; glitter wedges and chain-wrap bracelets in a spectrum of colors. Come fashion week this September, I’ll be pairing it with a silky red Equipment blouse, oodles of gold jewelry and the blackest of black tights.

I usually only shop for lingerie in fancy Paris boutiques. But after this weekend, when I went a little nuts at Gap Body, it's safe to say my days as a lingerie snob are over. I am crazy for Gap underwear! They're comfortable, pretty and so affordable! Also, I got a sneak peek of their next season's lingerie collection—it's even better!

I can never have too many wedge sandals. This weekend, I bought an ikat-print pair from the limited-edition Theodora & Callum collection at Stuart Weitzman (for $197. 50, which was, ahem, 50% off). They have so many different color combos, it was hard to make a decision. After some serious debate, I settled on a pale-blue-and-purple combo, which I think will go great with denim and whites. You can browse similar versions on Shopbop, but I suggest you hit up an actual Stuart Weitzman boutique to score a discounted pair before they sell out.

I love the Paris-based label R&Y Augousti. They make the coolest, exotic-skin handbags and furniture. The bags can be pricey, but during July, the stores in France hold bi-annual sales. On Friday, I called the Paris boutique and ordered this stone-embellished, stingray minaudiere (originally 1000 euros for only 250 euros). What a steal!

I skipped town this weekend to enjoy Toronto’s annual “Caribana” festival, which is more or less a city-wide party that celebrates Caribbean culture and traditions. After being inspired by the handmade percussion instruments at the Steel Drum “Pan Alive” competition, I purchased this pendant choker, which evokes the center of the oiled pan drums.

Before I left Toronto, I also made it my business to visit the Queen Street West District, which is home to the city’s most eccentric eateries and shops. I fell in love with the food (best pea soup ever) and decor at Ultra Supper Club. Their farm-style tables feature quirky antler candle-holders that I just had to have! As soon as I got home, I secured a set from Z Gallerie.

It wasn’t until my phone died while I was running errands this weekend that I realized I haven't worn a watch in forever. How could I not own such a staple? I wanted an everyday watch that was lightweight and water-resistant, and ultimately went with a classic: Swatch. Its papaya hue also adds a burst of color to freshen up my outfits.

While in the mood for loungewear, I grabbed a basic hoodie from the J. Crew weekend section. It’s light enough to put on over shorts for hot days, and warm enough to help me withstand all those AC-frozen stores, train cars and eateries. Plus, I will definitely be wearing it through the fall when the weather turns chilly.

A friend of mine was wearing these when someone asked if they were Tory Burch. Nope. Montego Bay, as in only 25 smackers at Payless, and surprisingly comfortable. I jumped online and ordered them immediately.

I don’t like letting milestones go by without proper celebrating, so over the weekend, I threw one of my girlfriend's a birthday dinner, as well as got her a little special something. She has a bit of a downtown-rocker style, so this ring was perfect. Plus, the bit of sparkle to makes it pop on her finger. She loves it!

This leather, carry-all pouch has become a staple for both girls and guys in the Lucky office. With a wide assortment of colors for every season, I had to add this taupe number to my collection for fall.
