Shop Looks Inspired by Taylor Tomasi Hill

Taylor Tomasi Hill is Moda Operandi's artistic director, but she's probably better known for her A+ street style game. It's the most compelling kind: surprising without resorting to shock tactics. She's not going to wear a banana sculpture on her head, but she'll still be shot sporting something I'd never think to wear myself. Hot pants with sleeveless coats, high-top sneakers with pencil skirts, drop-waist pants with cropped jackets: for Taylor, it's always a fresh mix.

Click through to shop a few of her wardrobe's standout pieces—and, of course, to see how to style them. (That's where the magic really is.)

Metallic skirts abound in the evening—but during the day, they stand apart as confident, cool choices. Pair them with casual sweaters or slouchy t-shirts that lend a bit of nonchalance to your look.

Pair silky blouses like this one with high-waisted trousers, then add a waist-cinching belt. It'll create '70s jumpsuit-like proportions that'll stand out in a crowd of skinny jeans and untucked button-downs.

Year-round white jeans are pretty common now, so adding a bold belt makes them a little more exciting. Finish the look with something muted on top to balance it out.

Pinstriped pants are slimming, but wide-striped pants are slimming and incredibly eye-catching. Get them in a floor-grazing length to make the look even more dramatic (and make your legs look even longer).

We love how the dainty openness of the lace-up heels contrasts with that Matrix-style leather dress. It makes a classic black-on-black outfit so much more interesting.

Taylor's a master of layering, and this outfit allows her to do it even in the warmer months. We love the proportion play here and would totally do the same with a sleeveless coat and miniskirt. It's awesome.
