Label to Watch: 4.collective

There are certain wardrobe essentials you can never own too many of—think classic denim, ballet flats and white tees—but at the tip-top of that list? Day-to-night dresses. And that's exactly why we love brand-new label 4.collective.

Designed by a mystery quartet of four women with serious roots in the fashion industry (kind of like an anonymous As Four), the brand's all about "desk-to-dinner" pieces that use color and print—not crazy silhouettes or tricky cuts—to make a statement. Done in ultra-wearable crepe, tweed and ponte, 4.collective's debut Spring 2013 collection consists of eight looks accessibly priced from $275 to $335, all of which could layer over tights and long-sleeved knits and under blazers. For our part, we could easily envision these shirtdresses and shifts on the likes of minimalist-loving style stars like Kate and Pippa Middleton—what do you think?
