From March 12-17, a bevy of psychedelic rockers, rappers, folk outfits and international acts will take the stage. And as any music lover can attest, no matter what sort of sound you're into, the contents of your suitcase can make or break your outdoor festival-going experience.

To that end, we asked some of our favorite girl groups what they’ll be packing this year—and their answers might surprise you. Click through to see the first installment of what the edgiest female artists can’t live without at SXSW.

Bleached

Sisters Jessica and Jennifer Calvin describe their musical duo Bleached as “post-punk.” The blonde L.A. natives are influenced by classic bands like the Misfits and the Ramones, and their own sound reads as a lighter, more poppy take on punk rock. Denim jackets and oversized band tees paired with more feminine touches like lace dresses and knee socks define the edgy sisters’ style. Of course, their trademark tousled, bleached-out 'dos don't hurt!
