Victoria's Secret Model Lily Aldridge Is Now A Designer

Most conversations about Lily Aldridge mention her work at Victoria's Secret, like last November when she strutted down the runway in star covered wings, a blue bra and striped mullet skirt at the lingerie brand's annual show. Or her frequent appearances in the company's widely distributed catalogs and web videos wearing all manner of push-ups, skivvies and bikinis. But people don't typically associate the gap-toothed Angel with many clothes and understandably so—she just looks so damn good without 'em.

Still, it's not like the model spends her entire life lounging around in intimates and silky pink robes. Besides her VS job, she has several reoccurring contracts that involve being fully dressed, like her long-standing position as the face of Velvet by Graham and Spencer, which recently turned into a co-designing gig. Her very first collection for the casual-wear label launches on Matches' e-commerce site today. Described by Aldridge in an interview with Vogue UK as "laid-back luxe," the 13 piece range is full of soft and slouchy weekend-y things that can transition from brunch-time Bloody Marys to Margaritas at six with nothing more than a shoe change.

The line's accompanying lookbook aptly stars Lily, looking considerably more covered-up than we're used to, but no less pretty. And now, without her enviably sculpted abs to preoccupy us, we can focus on other, more important things—like if we have enough rainy day money to buy the green army jacket and the tan sweater.
