Shop It: Polka Dot Pieces

Thanks to Marc Jacobs, everyone's declaring bold stripes a major, earth-shatteringly giant trend for this spring. But polka dots feel pretty seasonal, too—something about them's just cheery and drinks-outside-y, like they belong more on sundresses and silk blouses than on winter knits. Plus, in this sea of stripes, polka dots are even fresher-feeling, so we want to wear them all the time (maybe even mixing them with those stripes for the best of both worlds).

Pair it with a tie-front blouse to dress it up, or a chambray shirt to keep it casual.

Instead of pinstripes, wear polka dots to work.

file

Add a fun little wink to a simple black cocktail dress.

Feels a bit retro, but not overwhelmingly so.
