A Chambray Dress
Nothing says "I see you, casual Friday!" quite like a head-to-toe denim look. Since cutoffs and a chambray button-up aren't exactly office-appropriate (unless you happen to work at a dude ranch or summer camp), communicate a similar message in an adorable, highly versatile chambray sundress instead. Wear it with a cardigan in your cubicle, then shed the outer layer when it's time to bounce at 2 pm.
Sophisticated Sandals
On days when you're planning to go straight from the office to a picnic in the park, reach for a pair of polished, strappy, ultra-summery shoes. Our current faves? Anything woven, metallic or Grecian- (but not gladiator-) inspired.
Polished Shorts
So long as shorts are permitted in your particular workplace, there's absolutely no reason why you can't make them part of your Summer Friday outfit rotation. Pairs in leather, natty tweed and metallic jacquard are a step (actually, several) above cutoffs and look amazing paired with a colorful silk button-up or lightweight sweater.
Statement-Making Sunglasses
This one's kind of a no-brainer: when you're leaving the office just after (or, if you're really lucky, just before) lunchtime, you're gonna want to throw some statement-making shades in your bag for that stroll home.
A Roomy Tote
Off to someplace exotic this weekend (or, you know, someplace that's a train ride away)? Let a spacious tote that can double as a weekender be your go-to. It'll look polished and professional while sitting by your desk during working hours, and nobody has to know that you've got bikinis and beach towels stashed inside.
