13 Under-$100 Things We Need From the Steven Alan Sale

There's only a small window to shop Steven Alan's online sample sale, which started this morning and ends at midnight EST on Saturday. We'd suggest you take advantage of it, not only because there are jeans, sandals and dresses marked down by as much as 70 percent, but also because they're by brands like Acne, No. 6 and Rachel Comey.  They're labels with a classic backbone and tomboy charm that are lesser known than, say, J.Crew or Madewell, so you're way less likely to see three girls at brunch wearing the striped shirt or chambray dress you buy from them. Always a plus.

There is one downside, though: all sales are final, so you'll need to commit to whatever you're buying since you can't return it. But we'd bet you'll have no trouble pawning off anything that doesn't work to a friend or sister, or reselling it online or to a secondhand store (for a profit, even). The quality of the stuff is high, the discounts are steep and there are tons of things in the very affordable range, like all of the items below. Click through below to see our favorites in the under-$100 range, and shop the full sale here.

No one will know you don't have the slightest idea how to surf.

One of those dresses that sneaks up on you because it seems like an un-amazing purchase at the time, and then you end up wearing it ALL. SUMMER. LONG and wonder how you lived without it.

Best of both worlds: the nerdy charm of a cardigan mixed with the sporty swagger of a varsity jacket. Wear it over a plain slipdress and consider your outfit done.

So cute with the hem tied in a knot and paired with cutoffs.

Bright orange stripes feel slightly fresher than classic red ones.

Get on the jumpsuit train. Everyone's doing it.

Lemlem makes the best summer scarves.

Mix it with a polka dot bikini top and you'll have a cool beach outfit in just two pieces.

Mix it into a stack of thin, plain gold rings.

A good way to tiptoe into printed pants. They're cool, but not too aggressive.

The perfect length to pair with high-waisted jeans and skirts, when extra fabric at the bottom is kind of a buzzkill for the proportions you want to create.

These would make an outfit out of a white t-shirt and black jeans.

Wear it tucked into blue jeans for a blue-on-blue look that winks at a denim tuxedo, but in a fresher way.
