How to Mix Royal Hues for a Regal Warm-Weather Look
My style has evolved over the years, taking a bit of inspiration from every part of my life. My California roots bring out my playful side. To me, this means bright colors, fun prints and a little twirl in my skirt. But New York is my home now, and I can’t think of a better place to live in terms of its potential to offer style inspiration. The sidewalks are like runways, so to make yourself stand out in a sea of people you’ve got to be bold. Add color, patterns and prints to make your basics pop. I love to start with berry colors—deep purples and pinks—as they're a perfect palette for just about any brightly hued shoe, lip or accessory. Try mixing patterns and weights while you're at it: a delicate lace with a big, chunky bracelet, like the Kenneth Jay Lane cuff in my collection, or even that same lace with a snakeskin clutch. The bigger and bolder, the better.
