Wiggle Room
I started obsessing over these clingy, tailored wiggle dresses during the summer while watching the gorgeously curvy, red-lipstick-clad women of the AMC show Mad Men (which is based on Manhattan ad agencies of the early '60s and is so consistently smart and stylish that I hope it stays on the air forever). There's something truly old-school sexy about these pieces—they manage to be neat, elegant, and smoldering all at the same time, and you don't need to be a size 2 to pull them off. I imagine wearing one with a wide belt, sheer stockings, little heels and—if I were this kind of girl at all—a high-curled ponytail.

i love that show too!
I love the fabric of these dresses, but am even more into 30's and 40's dresses. Still clingy. Still smart, but coupled with heavy makeup, carefully styled hair, and heavy heeled shoes...that's how I wish I could look all the time.
Nevermind. You're talking about that era of time. I haven't seen that show, but I'm starting to think this is actually one of the dresses I mean.
