My new jewelry idea: A bunch of lockets
I've never been much of a necklace person, but I bought a locket on eBay a few months ago that I've been wearing here and there to spruce up simple shirts ever since. My only complaint is that it's a bit too conservative and "Plain Jane Lady." So this is what I'm thinking (and maybe this is the same kind of insane move as the one I tried for two months back in '83 when I wore multiple crucifixes—thanks for the memories, Madonna!): I want to start layering multiple lockets at different lengths and sizes. Not multiple like 10, but maybe three at a time on thin delicate chains. They'd all have to be a little tarnished and antique-looking, though, and I'd pair them with romantic dresses (maybe with a slight ruffle? Or floral? But not both). I like this tiny art nouveau oval version, this almost 2-inch round one, and how could you resist this pretty little thing with a bird on it that's shaped like a heart?

I reclaim vintage lockets and rework them into one-of-a-kind necklaces. Some of the lockets still have the original photos inside. I love to imagine who wore it, and the meaning of the photos inside. Not only are they all unique, but they each tell a story.
