The Ideal Espadrille
I was trolling for the perfect pair of espadrilles from the legendary Spanish website espadrillesetc.com (they've got more than 100 styles to choose from, ship to the States in only one to two days, and it's all surprisingly affordable) and found just what I was looking for: the Amaya, a classic closed-toe wedge, updated in bronze. They're just the right height (flatteringly tall but not to the point of being impossible to walk in), sleek enough to wear to work, and I love the goes-with-anything, subtly textured metallic fabric.
