Violet_blog Look past the slightly schticky setup of Violet.com, and you'll find that the recently launched Web retailer is indeed a great resource for cool, exceedingly stylish gifts. Whether or not you like its tone (you can search for gifts by the potential recipient's traits: "calculating," "cosmopolitan," "ethereal," and so on), the lighter-than-air Mongolian cashmere throws, beautiful boxed letterpress stationery, and embossed leather luggage tags in vibrant jewel tones that await after a couple of clicks are undeniably appealing.

Green and Great

I just discovered a brand-new site called Green With Glamour, whose mission is to consolidate the chicest eco-friendly clothing and housewares all in one place, and immediately added it to my list of bookmarks. It's amazingly true to its name; I scoured the site and didn't see anything the least bit crunchy on offer. Standouts include the slinky giraffe-print camisole made of vintage silk and the GWG clutch, which is also crafted from recycled fabrics and has an oversize buckle that's been painted with non-toxic paint. And check out their home stuff, in particular Woodson & Rummerfield's green birdcage wallpaper, which is made of recycled paper and vegetable dyes. The vibe is part Alice in Wonderland, part chinoiserie—and I am fully, utterly obsessed.
