This new boutique has brought forward-thinking style to downtown Pittsburgh.

Chickdowntown
Lisa Kyle
Chickdowntown was a much-anticipated addition to Pittsburgh's Cultural District when it opened in 2007, and the store's mix of unique, statement-y items and sleek basics has been so successful, in part, thanks to owner Amy Reed's unerring eye. "I realized that every time someone told me a piece might be tough to sell, it actually flew off the rack," she notes with a laugh. The streamlined interior—awash in silver, gray, and the palest lilac—is a perfectly subdued counterpoint to the bold clothes, which run the gamut from trim, fitted jackets by Gryphon to evening-worthy dresses from Hanii Y. and Thread Social. 717 Liberty Ave., 866-452-4425, chickdowntown.com
