Expertly curated, nature-inspired goods are the stock-in-trade at this San Francisco mini emporium.
Kati Kim opened her store in 2004, determined to establish a strong tie to the merchant community of her Lower Haight neighborhood. "Most of our customers live within a couple of blocks," says Kim, and the boutique pays homage to the district's artistic spirit by hosting seasonal gallery shows and frequent design collaborations, from a redwood forest mural by Jill Bliss to exclusive jewelry lines by Emiko Oye and Zoe Chicco. The space's modern, earthy feel—crisp, whitewashed walls, imperfect, pale wood floors—complements the similarly sleek-yet-organic wares like clean, sophisticated dresses from Deanna Bratt, chunky knits from Stewart Brown, and a huge selection of woodsy, ethereal jewelry. 629A Haight St., 415-558-8588, doe-sf.com
