jumelle
This Brooklyn boutique specializes in hard-to-find European labels with feminine charm.

After 11 years in broadcast journalism, Candice Waldron decided to leap into an entirely different career, opening the elegant (yet decidedly unfussy) Jumelle on Williamsburg's bustling Bedford Avenue. The store's name is French for "twin"—Waldron's twin sister, Carla, is the store's manager—and there is a nice emphasis on Parisian designers like Isabel Marant and Gaspard Yurkievich. "I think quality, simplicity, and uniqueness are incredibly important," says Waldron, and the selections in her airy shop run the gamut from the simple (A.P.C. basics, Devotte boots) to the truly stunning. 148 Bedford Ave., 718-388-9525, shopjumelle.com
