This playfully cool spot brings a constantly rotating mix of new labels and visual art to Seattle.

Tucked away in a historic building at the up-and-coming end of the Ballard Avenue district, this unconventional lifestyle boutique plays host to a carefully curated selection of clothing and design. Influenced more by a degree in art history than a typical retail background, owner Kate Pawlicki finds inspiration in everything from B movies to vintage fashion: "I think highbrow and lowbrow can be equally appealing," she says. To keep things fresh, the store takes on a completely new concept every 60 days, when both the wares and the interior are transformed to showcase a new group of rising designers and artists. Certain super-popular collections, however, remain constant, like intricate pieces from local jewelry team Chumil and limited-edition dresses from A Different Fur. 1912 NW Dock Pl., 206-706-7857, pulplab.com
