This friendly Brooklyn, New York, spot has an easy, feminine appeal and a focus on up-and-coming labels.

When Camilla Gale and Rand Niederhoffer decided to set up shop in tree-lined Fort Greene, they had a specific point of view in mind. "The goals were both to support underrepresented designers and offer wearable, affordable interpretations of runway looks," said Gale. To that end, they cultivate relationships with new talents, whose work shows up on both the stores racks and on the accompanying website, which charmingly spotlights emerging designers and features personality-driven sections like Gale and Niederhoffer's blog and a "Covet List" of items the two can't get enough of right now. The women have melded their personal styles (Gale has rather modern taste; Niederhoffer, more romantic) to focus on crisp staples—Tylho's deeply hued silk dresses and Geren Ford tunics—along with imaginative accessories like feather headbands from Pluma. 221 DeKalb Ave., 718-855-5577, thistleclover.com
