best plus size stores in America

Plus size girls finally get some great shopping options.

Boutique Larrieux

This Milwaukee-based boutique has a huge selection of stylish wares, running the gamut from every day styles like Not Your Daughter's Jeans jeggings to a sexy one-shoulder bandage dress from label London Times. Those of you not in the area, don't despair: Nearly all of the items they carry are available on their website.

Bombshell Boutique

This little gem of a store is all about—you guessed it—getting in touch with your inner bombshell! The buyer, Denise Alden, has a knack for picking out pretty dresses from labels like Lucie Lu and Jibri that are as stylish as they are comfortable.

This 3,000-square Brooklyn outpost is a vintage and contemporary clothing lover's dream. It stocks amazing hand-picked vintage plus-size finds, from sizes 10 and up, as well as cool contemporary labels like Anna Scholz, Tadashi and Marina Rinaldi—specializing in sizes 14 and up. It also lets customers sell or trade some of their own used garments for store credit or cash, making it a recession-friendly (as well as stylish) resource.

Fresh Ayer

Founded by Parsons grad Liz Ayerle, this boutique strives to cater to women of all shapes and sizes, from a 0 to a 24. We love the flirty cocktail dresses, as well as the everyday basics--but our favorite has to be the printed blouses, which Ayerle designs herself.

Buxom specializes in affordable designer clothing in sizes 12-26. And with Beth Ditto counted as one of owner Bree Reed's muses, don't expect to find any wallflower fashions in this disco-ball-adorned shop.

Plush Boutique

Whether you're looking for a sexy, fun girls-night-out frock—or a glam, maxi affair—you're bound to find the perfect dress at this elegant Atlanta boutique. You may even find the dress: Plush stocks an amazing selection of gorgeous and affordable bridal wear.

This e-retailer is known for it's ultra-trendy fashions—from graphic tees to leopard print dresses.

A great source for stylish workwear, this store chain stocks an amazing selection of blouses, shifts and suits.

Lane Bryant

In terms of styles, sizes and variations, this classic chain store really can't be beat. With everything from cool going-out tops, to flattering jeans and sexy lingerie (with bra sizes going up to 48DDD), it's no wonder that Lane Bryant is a staple among curvy girls.

What's more, the retailer recently launched Fashion Genius, which acts as a virtual stylist to help you find garments that fit and flatter for your shape. Now that's genius.

Fashion to Figure

FtF has a great online store where you can nab trendy and flattering styles like their ever-popular jumpsuit or a chic faux fur vest. The best part? The clothes are as affordable as they are on-trend!
