Bleeker Street
Refined rustic is the vibe at this antique shop that culls goods from all around the globe and a variety of decades. Huge antlers are strewn throughout the store alongside cool, chunky English white ironstone pieces, white wrought-iron chairs, large wooden troughs, and rough-hewn wood tables.
The Painted Lady
This Bucktown shop is filled with bright, glowing furniture that owner Beth Brace has picked up at Midwest flea markets and given a new life with fresh coats of shiny white paint. The look is shabby chic, with pretty white linens, vintage crystal-laden lamps and chandeliers, and small accessories.
Brimfield
Setting foot in this Andersonville shop is like stepping into a turn-of-the-century country flea market, where plaid is the dominant theme—albeit in the most urbane way. You'll find blankets, chairs, pillows, and even a coffee thermos covered in the iconic print, as well as chairs reupholstered with charming vintage wool patterns.
Patina Antiques
Owner Alan Shull travels the world in search of pieces with patina, that well-worn surface that often gives antiques an aged, distressed look. When he finds something in less-than-desirable condition—from an enormous, decades-old wooden mail sorter to an apothecary jar or a steel table—he updates it by refinishing and repainting it.
