The vision of David Alhadeff, owner of the pioneering design shop The Future Perfect (see No. 42), and his friend Jill Goldhand, A&G Merch sprang from a desire to create an affordable general-store-like experience for Williamsburg. Apartment-appropriate decor, like toadstool-shaped ottomans and compact couches, is on offer, along with a range of quirky housewarming gifts, such as mosaic-patterned nesting bowls and hand towels stamped with images of King Louis XIV. 111 N.
