Engineered by graffiti artist André and situated in the soaring lobby of the Palais de Tokyo museum, this gift store—open until midnight daily— showcases quirky objects from around the world. The walls are composed of rows of glowing seven-foot-tall refrigerators, filled with candles in the shape of hands making the victory sign and Paris-based Viveka Bergstrom's enamel necklaces.

Dépôt ventes are the Parisian version of consignment shops, and you'll find one in almost every neighborhood. The merchandise on offer generally reflects the style of the neighborhood, which is why we favor this large shop in the 16th. The posh local ladies drop off never-worn Chanel jackets and gently used Birkin bags, which you can snap up at a fraction of their sticker price.

Outside of the main shopping thoroughfares, this quietly low-key department store is primarily trafficked by the well-heeled neighborhood ladies who live in the 16th, which means that perusing its racks is a quiet and relaxed affair. The selection isn't as vast as what you'll find at Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, but all the best brands, from Les Prairies de Paris to Chanel, are here.
