Zadig & Voltaire

This extremely popular French standard—which now has a shop in Los Angeles—is known for its limited, almost army-inspired palette (gray, light purple, muted green) worked into excellent-fitting silhouettes. Hip-grazing sweaters with patched elbows, skinny jeans, and rumpled leather bags that look like they've been washed a million times are highlights. It also has a small outlet store in the Marais (see 4th arrondissement).
