The Great Put-On

Unlike many of its fellow Martha's Vineyard boutiques, which are largely summer-centric, The Great Put-On sells clothing for all seasons and all sorts of occasions: Diane von Furstenberg wrap dresses, Frye boots, and Robert Rodriguez sweaters abound.

Portobello Road

Tucked away off a parking lot, this has the aura of an old library: It's dotted with antique signage and brass statues of hunting dogs, and the long, well-worn tables are piled with gorgeous coffee-table books and vintage ephemera.

Rags

Portobello Road's sister store is one of the island's stalwarts (it opened in 1975) and feels as bustling as a train depot (aided by lofty ceilings and brightly colored vintage posters of seaside haunts from around the world). The racks are rife with What Comes Around Goes Around beaded dresses, Trina Turk party dresses, and jewel-studded Mystique sandals.

Vintage Jewelry

Both outposts of this shop (there's also one in Vineyard Haven) are eensy, tucked off the main streets of their respective towns, and packed with antique pearls, delicate cameo pendants, and fun cocktail rings—all of them, of course, vintage.
