Columbus

Collier West

Helmed by two Limited Brands veterans (the company is headquartered in Columbus, which is one of the reasons the city's boutique scene is so vibrant), Collier West feels like a glamorous take on a 19th-century general store. Fornasetti plates line the walls, bramble-inspired chandeliers dangle from the ceiling, and display cases are packed with flea-market finds and jewelry.

Flower Child

At two stories, this garret-like vintage shop is easy to get lost in—besides a trove of clothing, the emporium also offers midcentury modern furniture and other home collectibles.

Grandview Mercantile

Situated in a former Tucker car dealership (an automotive predecessor of Ford and GM), this 20,000-square-foot antiques mall stands out for its fair and reasonable prices and its eccentric offerings. A recent visit turned up a taxidermic springbok and an ancient loom.

Jinny

The five-year-old Jinny is owned by a former magazine editor and producer at the Style Network, which is why the bricks-and-mortar outpost of the much-loved website is stocked with such deeply covetable labels. Jackets by Rick Owens, Vanessa Bruno dresses and Golden Goose boots round out the racks.

Kathryn's

When we polled our fashion insider friends in Columbus, they all cited this as their favorite vintage resource: Known for—of all things—an impressive collection of antique bridal garb, the shop also offers loads of other gorgeous formal gowns.

Ladybird

Styled like a deeply feminine parlor, the shop has a subtly edgy vibe. Perfectly worn-in jean jackets are arranged next to floral Tucker blouses, while menswear-inspired Claridge & King shirts rest next to Mike Gonzalez leather vests.

Mad 4 Mod

Since everything is broken down by type and then color, perusing the packed racks at this popular vintage mainstay is actually a fun—rather than frustrating—experience.

3292 N. High St., 614-453-0791

Milk Bar

Streetwear-inspired labels like MM6 and A.P.C. establish the prevailing sensibility at this airily low-key spot. Owned by a team of guys, the shop has a utilitarian, unfussy aesthetic, which makes it perfect for stocking up on easy layering pieces and denim.

Rowe

Former public relations executive Maren Roth tested her retail concept before formally opening Rowe in 2007 by hosting pop-up shops in vacant gallery spaces around town. A trove of labels like Dannijo, Lauren Moffatt and Cleobella—and a recent expansion—are a testament to her excellent curatorial skills.

Brigade

The original is based in Cleveland, but Brigade's Columbus outpost is just as slick. The industrial space is split straight down the middle, offering Nom de Guerre parkas for men and sharply tailored Rag & Bone blazers for women.
