Anthropologie
Fans of the vintage-inspired garments and home accessories at this boutique chain should make a point of visiting its hometown emporium. It has a thrilling amount of merchandise—the most we've seen—on four flours of an 1890s mansion that overlooks the square.

Arcadia Boutique
Chic and nicely affordable items crowd the tabletops and racks here, from James Jeans' super-flattering eco-friendly jeans to delicate chain necklaces made of repurposed silver and enamel. An appealing extra: Arcadia offers a travel service that books eco-friendly vacations.

Art Star
Metalsmith Erin Waxman and ceramist Megan Brewster opened this gallery/store to sell clothing, paintings, and an amusingly esoteric variety of odds and ends by rising local talents. Our favorites: adorable ceramics from Little Flower Designs and graphic totes from Tymbal Art Co.

Delicious Boutique & Corseterie
The spectacular, carnival-esque decor here is beyond cool. Imagine flag pennants draped across the ceiling, dresses hanging on a giant target, corsets resting on circus-stripe-painted shelves, and racks of rock tees strung up with the same rope used to secure sideshow tents.

Duross & Langel
This store's eponymous grooming products are all-natural and locally made, and most of them are derived from recipes created by co-owner Steve Duross' grandmother (try the invigorating cinnamon-leaf-based, muscle-relaxing Dragon Balm). They've started making their soaps, candles, and lotions in the large window overlooking 13th Street, which makes walking by almost as fun as going in.

Hello World
The two branches of this local favorite offer totally disparate things. The first sells jewelry, handbags, and hostess gifts while the second specializes in midcentury modern home furnishings and accessories.
