Seattle

Blackbird

While Blackbird is wildly hyped, the adulation is well-deserved: The racks are primarily devoted to slick menswear, but there are unisex picks, too, including Comme des Garçons wallets, Cutler and Gross sunglasses and a mini apothecary's worth of candles and soaps.

Bossi & Ich Ky

Launched in 2008, the super-cute Seattle shop Bossi & Ich Ky is one of those rare spots that get their buy just right. It's stocked with regional exclusives from top-notch indie talents: Maxie dresses from Meghan, structured separates by Corey Lynn Calter, and Hemyca's rustic coats are shown off in a cozy, low-lit space, punctuated by a faux—but no less enchanting—fireplace.

Canopy Blue

Everything at this feminine, cabana-feeling spot will make you want to plan a trip to some remote Caribbean island. Silk dresses by Calypso St. Barth, Tory Burch tunics and paper-thin Splendid tanks abound.

3121 E. Madison St., Ste. 103, 206-323-1115

Dolce Vita

This much-loved chainlet's eponymous shoe collection gets an ample berth at the airy Seattle location, but there's still plenty of room for the Seneca Rising tunics and leggings by Kova & T.

Essenza

Since 1998, Essenza has been supplying the area with hard-to-find beauty lines like Santa Maria Novella and Serge Lutens. Beyond bubble bath and gorgeously scented candles, there's also exquisite jewelry by Jamie Joseph and plush bathrobes.

Fancy

We love Sally Brock's whimsical line of sterling silver jewelry and appreciate her eye for finding other local designers and artists. This tiny shop is a treasure chest.

Far 4

Helmed by two Russian-born siblings whose family actually owns a porcelain factory in Moscow, Far 4 has distinguished itself as the source in Seattle for forward-thinking home goods. Besides its own ceramics line, find Astier de Villatte fruit bowls and Kühn Keramik mugs emblazoned with burning hearts.

The Field House

This newish enterprise from the owner of Blackbird is styled like a rural general store, complete with old-fashioned candy, artisan maple syrup and home goods (especially if "home" is a log cabin), like Pendleton blankets and flannel shirts.

5465 Leary Ave. NW, 206-297-6093

The Finerie

Brimming with here-and-only-here labels like Smythe, Pour La Victoire, and Doucette Duvall, this duplex has everything from romantic black-tie gowns to workish separates and affordable, smart rain gear—all conveniently divided by occasion.

Fremont Vintage Mall

Situated in the bustling Fremont shopping district, this subterranean shop is broken into mini stalls offering cool, authentic wares, like enamel '60s ashtrays and old advertising signs. There's also a wealth of vintage clothing.
