Savannah

Maybe it's the Spanish moss or the mint juleps, but something about this Georgia city makes us want to put on a sweeping gown and a vintage ring and revel in the dark, creepy romanticness of it all.

37th at Abercorn

It'll take the better part of an afternoon
to explore 37th at Abercorn's 7,500 square feet of antiques, most of which are showcased in quirky, themed rooms in a gorgeous historic mansion. There's a Vuitton-centric safari space
on the first floor, an Alessi room in the rear, and upstairs,
one devoted entirely to your (real or imaginary) beach house.

Mint Boutique

Mint offers the best chance in town to stumble upon an unexpected treasure: like a short-sleeved leather jacket from Emu (trust us, it works) or a bright orange trench from Ali Ro.

Bleubelle

Just stepping into Bleubelle makes you want to go to a cocktail party—so well edited is the selection of cute tops and frocks from lines like Tory Burch, Ella Moss, Milly, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet and Diane von Furstenberg. And for those who are planning a trip down the aisle, it also has one of the best bridal salons in town.

Custard Boutique

This pale-yellow-walled
Design District shop would be our first stop for a big night out: Pick up a madly patterned Elana Kattan dress, ByBoe earrings, a Tano bag and you're done.

E. Shaver, Bookseller

A visit to Esther Shaver's bookstore feels like a trip to a lovingly curated museum with themed mini collections set in a beautiful historic building. Be sure to check out the great selection of antique maps between the bookshelves.

This block-long interiors shop packs in an impressive amount of home wares. Plus gifts.
Plus jewelry. Plus books. You get the idea.

The Paris Market & Brocante

The attention to detail at this French flea market–themed shop is extraordinary: One corner holds a mad-scientist desk strewn with ledgers and old vitrines; in another, a table is loaded down with delicately worked French glassware.

Red Clover

This nicely priced Historic District boutique is worth a stop if only to see the work of local label Mamie Ruth and the innovative ways the line uses traditional African wax cloth. Our favorite find was a pair of brightly colored shorts.

Satchel

Satchel's selection
of handbags
and luggage is surprisingly fluid, as it's influenced by a constantly shifting stock of scrap fabrics.

Shop SCAD

The Savannah College of Art and Design supplies the city with an arty, bohemian stock of artwork—mostly from student artists, who sell delicate jewelry, graphic home wares, photographs, paintings and more.

Small Pleasures

With one of the best selections of antique estate jewelry we've ever seen, the huge array of 18th-century mourning rings, Italian micro-mosaic pendants, and stone-studded drop earrings competes in quality with anything you would find in New York or Los Angeles.

Trunk 13

This three-room Design District
shop has some of Savannah's best
deals. We spotted
silky tops (most under $50), simple but sophisticated Central Park West dresses ($110) and attention-grabbing necklaces (under $40). The owners also post pictures of new goods on their Facebook page regularly and will take orders via the comments.

Our favorite antiques showroom in the Historic District, Wright Square Antique Mall has
the best prices
on a huge variety of stuff: vintage glass,
