New Orleans

With new bargain-heavy boutiques, eco-centric emporiums and even a store dedicated to lace, the Big Easy's shopping scene is flourishing once again.

Aidan Gill for Men

Don't be dissuaded by the name—or the fact that this is actually an old-school barber shop. There's plenty for women here, like Claus Porto soaps, Mason Pearson brushes and ribbon-banded Tokyo Bay watches.

Angelique

Just steps from the Tulane University campus, the canopied, cabana-esque flagship of this burgeoning local chainlet (there's also an adorable kids' shop and a well-curated shoe store) is a repository of great, ladylike taste. Floor-length Halston dresses and Diane von Furstenberg tunics round out the mix.

Armoire

This new, airy boutique sits in a stretch of shops with a similar philosophy: Every item on its well-appointed racks, from the silky, brightly colored blouses to the sweet dresses, costs less than $100 (with plenty to snap up for about $50).

Bamboo

Housed in a slick, hyper-modern building (which stands out amid the ornate, column-fronted exteriors of its neighbors), this spa/apothecary is overflowing with Laura Mercier lipsticks, Red Flower candles and Natura Bissé face creams.

Belladonna Day Spa

A general store sensibility pervades this sprawling space, which stocks everything from Russell + Hazel notepads to the gorgeously batiked elephant-print linens of John Robshaw Textiles.

Em's

Officially located in the burbs, this long-standing, eternally packed boutique has an extensive—and reliably on-trend—array of designers like Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent and Trina Turk.

Fair Folks and a Goat

At first glance, you'd never know this canary yellow double-shotgun house is actually a boutique. Unlike its New York counterpart, this is part inn, and the fixtures are all for sale, including Patrick Townsend chandeliers and fractal-patterned votive holders, as well as gowns by Ottilie Brodmann.
