Castor & Pollux

castor & pollux

The focus in this pared-down space in Manhattan's West Village is on classic pieces with a crisp, feminine appeal.

In 2006, Kerrilynn Pamer moved this much-beloved boutique from its original location in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights to a refined, airy space across the river. Named for the twin horsemen of Greek mythology, the store is filled with sophisticated, minimalist options—tank dresses from Alexandre Herchcovitch and boxy spring coats from Rodebjer—as well as equestrian-inspired accents like horseshoes and horse statues. "I think everything in the store has a luxurious-bohemian quality—elegant, with a cultured edge," says Pamer. Expect a tightly edited selection of downtown labels like 3.1 Phillip Lim and Acne, as well as a glass case stocked with statement-making jewelry from Wendy Mink and Hélène Zubeldia. 238 W. 10th St., 212-645-6572, castorandpolluxstore.com
