This brilliant spot offers a tightly edited selection of emerging labels alongside timeless staples in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
Dismayed by the lack of independent boutiques in her new Midwestern home, Jin H. Fillinger decided to put her experience as a Los Angeles fashion editor and stylist to work—and opened this boutique in Columbus' up-and-coming Short North district in 2006. "I didn't really expect such a vibrant, growing community when I first moved out here," admits Fillinger, who chose to stock her store with clothes and jewelry that telegraph a clean, confident style, from silk 3.1 Phillip Lim tops to chunky bangles from Bing Bang. And even the decor is inviting: The racks are pleasingly packed, dresses are draped over vintage fixtures, and super-chic heels and boots are perched atop old editions of classic novels. 844 N. High St., 614-291-3600, shopjinny.com
