Maeve Riley

In sunny San Diego, this cozy resource stocks a mix of elegant staples and breezy-chic pieces.

Despite its small size, this gem of a store is packed with a well-edited selection of airy dresses and crisp Californian looks. Owner Michelle Smith left a career as a hairstylist to open the shop in 2006 in the up-and-coming South Park area. "I love having a store here," says Smith. "All the businesses are independently owned and we have these fantastic community events." Gorgeous antique fixtures like an old wine cart and a vintage dancer's costume give the intimate space a unique appeal, and store buyer Kristin Matoba complements the decor with a wonderfully eclectic blend of on-the-cusp labels like Fleur Wood and warm-weather essentials, including C&C California tanks and J Brand denim. 2328½ 30th St., 619-501-3500, maeveriley.com
