We're huge fans of Alternative Apparel's perfectly faded and fitted "burnout" tee, so we were thrilled to find that the company has launched an earth-friendly spin-off. The Alternative Earth collection is made from 100 percent organic cotton, grown with reduced pesticides and fertilizers. The original label's brilliance with basic styles is reflected here, along with some great new shapes.

This brand has one of the highest profiles in the eco-conscious clothing market, thanks in no small part to the fact that it's the project of Ali Hewson—wife of Bono. Edun emphasizes using organic materials and creating sustainable trade in developing areas of the world. It has a particular knack for T-shirts: The colors are subtle; the patterns are unexpected and just edgy enough; and they all have a really pretty feel.

Already known for making some of the softest, most flattering and laid-back tees around, Nation LTD is now putting out a fully green line of bamboo-and-cotton-blend pieces. Designer Jen Menchaca keeps the color palette simple and natural, and every item is antibacterial, breathable, and wrinkle-free—even the covetably sexy, skin-baring tanks.

This Los Angeles–based collection is wholly devoted to natural, pesticide-free fabrics—and the styling is spot-on. The delicately pleated, softly hued tees are made from organic cotton and hemp and are treated with low-impact dyes. Our picks: the demure-but-hot V-neck and sweetheart-neckline styles.
