June 2007: Does This Outfit Work?
Photo (Before/After): Todd Selby
Mallory Marra—who appears in the "Does This Outfit Work?" feature in our June issue—had one overriding concern about her outfit: "Are the busy print on the skirt and the frilly top too much together?" she asked. We loved both pieces, but she was right—they needed to be broken up.

Our stylists decided to keep the cute, summery skirt and substitute her blouse for a much simpler white button-down. "Now this is more sophisticated," said the 21-year-old film student. "I always buy pieces that have something going on, so I love the rolled-up sleeves on this top. This combination is still me, only a little more streamlined—and very cool."
