Designers: Scott Walhovd and Anthony Castro
The collection, in a nutshell: Sweet simplicity (crewneck sweaters with heart-shaped pockets) meets slouchy sexiness (backless silk dresses).
A: Two pairs of jeans: one skinny and one flared. A blazer, either shrunken or oversize. A great cardigan. A high-waisted skirt that can go from the office to a dinner party.
Q: Which website has the best stuff?
Q: Which designers do you most admire?
A: Hannah MacGibbon, the designer of Chloé, makes great clothes that are effortless, and I love the way Stella McCartney is all about having fun and being sexy.
Q: What's the plan for your spring 2010 collection?
A: The inspiration is Palm Springs, and the image we're starting with is of a daughter who takes some of her mom's really cool clothes and makes them her own. Everything is really short to deal with the summer heat, so there are miniskirts, great shirtdresses, plus really beautiful soft blouses.
