Summer Music Style Special: Grace Potter

How the superbly soulful (and super-sexy) lead singer of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals stays bluesy-chic and performance-ready while on tour.

Much like her impossibly leggy Sixties-inspired minidresses, songwriter and vocalist Grace Potter is a throwback to rock royalty of yore. As frontwoman of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the sultry singer tackles everything from classic rock and velvety soul to slinky blues and free-wheeling folk, and has earned comparisons to icons such as Tina Turner, Grace Slick and Janis Joplin. Her personal style is nostalgia-flecked Americana glam (it doesn’t hurt that the sometimes-blonde bombshell physically resembles Stevie Nicks). Whether in beaded sheaths, plaid button-downs or floral rompers, her alluring look—like her voice—screams rock-goddess-on-the-rise. Currently singing her way through a jam-packed summer tour, the 28-year-old Waitsfield, Vermont, native took a break to reveal what’s inside her suitcase. Click to check out Grace’s top 10 on-the-road essentials, and be sure to watch the video for Grace and the Nocturnals’ “Paris (Ooh La La)” below.
