My position in the fashion closet is the best seat in the house: I traffic every piece of clothing that enters and leaves our offices. Of all of these brands, 3.1 Phillip Lim’s pieces are most often my favorites. For weeks now, I;ve been in love with this cotton/silk striped shirt. I’m from L.A. and like my clothing to be relaxed and comfortable, but still stylish. Phillip Lim does this extremely well. I also have a slight addiction to anything striped or navy. If I were a shirt, this is the one I would be.
I’m harboring a long-time obsession with Laurie Bartholomew’s jewelry line. Creative design, sturdy construction and witty details lend her precious pieces the right amount of effortless cool. The mermaid and monkey wire bracelets were gifts from my mother to my sister and me, and we each have a stack of her song bracelets on our wrists on most days. My latest addition, this beyond awesome Solo bird necklace, is so great on its own that when it’s not on my neck I keep it draped around a lampshade in my apartment.
I bought these sandals at full price (double sigh) but they are currently on sale at loefflerrandall.com. I've worn them with everything from short skirts to pleated pants to flouncy frocks. Get yours while you still can! We promise you'll still love them next summer.
After reading Jenna’s post on jeans for us shorter girls, I snagged a pair of Paige Denim’s Verdugo jeggings. They've become a staple for work AND are comfortable enough for travel. After a recent weekend of canceled connecting flights and a delayed return to NY, these bad boys were still in great shape when I rushed straight to the office from the airport.
I’m kind of loving the water-bottle-as-accessory idea. I was crazy about last year’s Missoni collaboration with S. Pellegrino–who would have thought that zig-zags and bubbles would be such perfect match?! This year, S. Pellegrino teamed up with another Italian luxury brand, Bulgari. The label on the bottle shows a yellow gold necklace embellished by brilliant cut diamonds, turquoises, amethysts and cabochon emeralds. This will do until I can get the real thing.
Fall is my favorite time of year but I’m just not ready for summer to end. I've found the best of both worlds with these corduroy shorts. I’ve had these for a few weeks now and have literally worn them every day that I’m not in the office. I guess it’s probably time to put them through the wash...
My wardrobe has always skewed a little borrowed-from-the-boys. For fall, I’m taking what I have and adding a few things for a more 50s / British / Teddy Boy look. Wear-with-everything oxfords were an obvious necessity, but the mint green color I chose from Doc Marten was a surprise even to me. These were totally an impulse buy, but I’m completely head over heels, crazy in love, obsessed. Next on the list: cropped pants, a tweed blazer and a cup of tea.
Obviously, the samples we have around the office are mostly lady-centric, so whenever I receive a guy-related item I freak out. Right now I’m obsessed with these 2(x)ist tees. The brand makes the best men’s undergarments in general, but these tees from the resort collection are so soft and comfy. You should try them too, girls. The extra-low v-neck looks great on women.
