Thread and Salt
by Dillon Burker, 22

In his own words, Thread and Salt is: Food Photography & Personal Style - "denim, and risotto"

On his past experience: "Coming off an education in Restaurant/Hospitality I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do post college, so I started this blog and took it from there. Since then, I've worked for Ernest Alexander, the NYC based American made menswear company, partnered with a few brands through Thread & Salt and carved a career with the digital creative agency Tarmac Creative."

Why he's excited to attend NYFW with Tumblr: "I've lived vicariously through personal friends & past NYFW tumblr bloggers Jace Lumley & Alex Maier for the past two seasons. I've heard the countless stories of stellar shows, unforgettable after parties and a true week unlike anything I've ever experienced.  I've been verbally urged to "DO EVERYTHING" and thats exactly what I intend on doing. This is truly the chance of a god damn lifetime."

Here we have one of Dillon's favorite outfit posts—clearly he's adept at layering. Aside from sharing his style with us, Dillon works on editorials, does some food photography (warning: you will get hungry) and seems to be endlessly excited for NYFW. Rightly so, Dillon, rightly so.

On her past experience: "I've been a fashion blogger for a couple years now and have had a lot of fun partnering with various brands. I've also guest blogged for a number of outlets and attended Tel Aviv fashion week last year, which was amazing."

Why she's excited to attend NYFW with Tumblr: "I'm excited to share everything I see with my readers - from the shows and presentations to street style, beauty and what I'm wearing day to day!"

We love Jaimen's bold use of color here and our editors raised an eyebrow or two at her bow handbag. The mixing of the sweatshirt and the ladylike accessories make us think she has some serious tricks up her sleeves for this NYFW. We're looking forward to seeing everything she wears...and then trying to steal it.
Chernova
by Ira Chernova, 20-something

In her own words, Chernova is, "a collection of my own work, mostly as a photographer and some of modelling."

On her past experience: "I started as photographer some years ago and with time it moved into a style I would call art fashion. Also I'm a model signed with ReQuest management."

Why she's excited to attend NYFW with Tumblr: "Combination of work, good people and great opportunities"

A sampling of Ira's work. It's arresting, well-composed and kind of takes your breath away. Our minds are reeling thinking of what she'll be able to dream up and shoot during the shows. Talented? Damn right.
Humans of New York
by Brandon Stanton, 28

Brandon describes Humans of New York as " a collection of over 5,000 portraits taken on the streets of New York City."

On his past experience: "I have a very uninformed perspective on fashion.  In general, I'm drawn to beautiful things that I've never seen before.  A lot of times that happens to be clothing."

Why he's excited to attend NYFW with Tumblr: "Love to meet new people and see new things.  Excited about the opportunity to do both."

Humans of New York

A longtime favorite of ours, Brandon's mission to document the many humans of our fair city has captured our hearts. We love how he chooses anybody that looks like they have a story and are obsessed with this detail shot of his. Also of note? He recently captured Jacquie Tajah Murdock, an 82 year old supermodel who was the star of Lanvin's fall 2012 campaign.
Blue Perk
by Freddy Rodriguez, 21

In his own words, Blue Perk is, "a menswear personal style blog documenting my life in Manhattan."

On his past experience: "I've attended fashion week for the past three seasons, taking each one as a learning experience for the next."

Clearly, Freddy has been brushing up on his accessory knowledge. In this post he also shows his bravery—not many men are willing to pull off a shirt like that.
William Yan
by William Yan, 29

In his own words, William describes his tumblr as, "a visual mood board, featuring images I like as well as images made by myself."

On his past experience: "I used to crash fashion shows, now I'm invited to them. That's pretty rad. I love the shows but I'm a sucker for real fashion on the streets, it's not about what people are wearing but about how they are wearing it. The fashion industry is forever changing yet everything is the same."

Why he's excited to attend NYFW with tumblr: "Some of the coolest people I know were a part of Tumblr Fashion Week before, plus it's an exclusive group with special access and access is everything!"

William is no stranger to fashion week. We've spotted him hanging around shows and in the streets searching for the perfect shot many times. His tumblr serves as his inspiration board and a place for him to share his own images, like the above. Moody runway shots? We're so game.
