It's never a good thing when bad weather strikes over the weekend. It's even worse, however, when torrential rain interrupts a major music festival—and that's exactly what happened last Friday, the first day of the third annual Governors Ball in New York. When an all-day downpour quickly transformed the grassy grounds into "mud soup" and high winds forced the festival organizers to cancel the evening's headlining performances by Kings of Leon and Pretty Lights, all seemed lost.
Turns out, music fans aren't afraid of a little mud—even the ankle-deep kind that makes wellies the only viable footwear option. As soon as Saturday morning, ticket holders were back out on the fields in full force and ready to dance (and splash) to the sweet sounds of Icona Pop, Guns N' Roses and more. And as usual, the festival style—both of the performer and spectator variety—didn't disappoint.
