10 Designers Who Might Be The Next Alexander Wang

The nominees for this year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund were announced yesterday evening at Rag & Bone's studio by the brand's designer duo and selection board members Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. The recipients (one main winner and two runners-up) will be determined by a series of interviews and presentations conducted through the next few months, officially announced next November 11 and given substantial financial backing ($300,000 for the winner; the two runners-up each get $100,000) to take their labels to the next level. Additionally, business mentoring from industry legends will be provided to all three.

It's quite possible that you've never heard of the ten designers topping this year's list, but that won't be the case for very long. Nearly every label that's gone through this program in the past has jettisoned to fame, including the Proenza Schouler boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, just honored with the coveted 2013 title of Womenswear Designer of the Year at the CFDA awards last June, and Alexander Wang, who now helms both his own namesake label and storied French fashion house, Balenciaga.

To keep you ahead of fashion-learning curve, we've included every nominated designer in the slideshow below, along with shoppable pieces from their respective lines. (And remember: expensive as some of this stuff might be, it's especially smart buy something now; this impending success all-but-guarantees a price hike.)
