First Look: Kanye West Designs Denim For A.P.C.

We are unsurprised yet delighted to learn that Kanye West and A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou have been putting their quality time together toward collaborating, not just hanging out. The news was announced yesterday morning via the French brand's Twitter; this morning, we learned from the French brand's team that the A.P.C. Kanye collab will consist of jeans, a hoodie and a t-shirt, all three of which will hit stores on July 14.

In this morning's press release, Touitou shared the story of how he first met Yeezy: "Over two years ago, a visitor to the A.P.C. studio was announced to me as 'Kenny'. He wanted my advice on the fashion industry; although I found such a request quite vague, as a mutual friend introduced us, I met with the guy. The guy talks, talks and talks and I was having a good time listening. He had nice manners and spoke about losing his mother in a surgery accident, about losing his girlfriend too, and about how difficult doing the right thing in fashion was. After a while, I was curious to know what this gentleman was currently doing in his life. I simply asked him: 'May I know what your trade is, sir?' He took his shades down, so that finally I could see his eyes, and answered me: 'I am a hip hop artist.'”

In terms of visual teasers, we've only got the below detail shot of the denim to go on. Which makes us wonder: will the jeans be embellished? Embroidered? Exactly the same was regular A.P.C. jeans, save an even higher price tag? Only six more days until we'll know. (Unless "Kenny" decides to go on a Twitter rant about the whole thing, which, given his past history, is not something we should factor out.)
