The Zara Skort That's Taking Over the World

Thanks to the hem, it spins an easy black and white color-blocked look into something a little more interesting.

Every couple months, a fast fashion chain knocks it out of the park on one particular thing out of the roughly 80 zillion that revolve through their doors each season. Three months ago, Zara did it with this statement shoe: a lace-up stiletto both Nicholas Kirkwood-looking and Steve Madden-priced. It was yellow and blue and black and white, and everybody was g-chatting about it or making pit stops after work to buy a pair.

Now the spotlight's on the brand's skort. With an asymmetrical hem and wrap-style front, it's polished in an off-kilter way, like those fancy envelope skirts from last fashion week. But it's also a skort, not a skirt, so as much as you can wear it to work with a blazer and silk blouse (you know, provided it's not too short on you), you can also sit Indian-style in it for a picnic or run errands in it without worrying about wind. For the not-unreasonable price of $49.90, it really serves a lot of purposes, so it's no wonder I've seen so many girls in this office building wearing it. But that's only the tip of the trend: click through below to see the skort in action on girls all over the country. Then click here to buy it before it's all gone.
