Beyoncé's Custom Gucci Concert Outfits Are (Appropriately) Fit for a Queen

Not buying tickets to one of Beyoncé's several Barclays Center shows this past weekend was an enormous mistake on my part. Why? Well, snapshots of Queen B strutting her stuff on the Brooklyn stage have pretty much dominated my Instagram feed for the last couple of days, making me feel all sorts of unpleasant FOMO-y feelings.
At any rate, when you're a star of Beyoncé's caliber, not just any stage costumer will do. That's why the "Grown Woman" singer tapped Gucci's Frida Giannini (who outfitted her for the Sound of Change concert in London last June) to create a series of custom costumes for her Mrs. Carter Show tour, two of which she debuted at Barclays over the weekend. The first, pictured above, was a heavily embellished mini dripping with feathers, sequins and other extremely expensive trappings. The second, which you can check out below, was a black and white top-and-trousers pairing we could totally picture B wearing offstage, too.
"I wanted the outfits to bring to life the assertive, powerful femininity I see in her performances," Giannini explained in a press release. "Her sheer talent, work ethic and uncompromised authenticity are her defining characteristics.” A job well done, we'd say.
Beyoncé will roll out even more custom Gucci looks once the Latin American leg of her tour kicks off on September 8. Which means it's time for me to start looking into round-trip tickets to Brazil...
