NYFW Spring 2014: The Curvy Fashionista Examines Brandon Sun's Contrast-Packed Collection

NYFW Correspondent

Hey there! Marie Denee here from the Curvy Fashionista, bringing you another recap from New York Fashion Week.

For Spring 2014, Brandon Sun experimented with balance and contrast; more specifically, a cross between feminine and masculine. Sheer insets, warm-weather leather, midi-length skirts and dresses and interesting textures were everywhere. The color palette was soft and warm, and pops of bold orange invoked a bit of attitude.

More shorts suits?! Yes, ma’am. Sun paired a sharply tailored version with a full white blouse, lending the look a polished yet laid-back and cool vibe. I love the continuation of the midi-length trend in both skirts and dresses, and Sun's collection offered a variety of separates in the ladylike length that seem perfect for mixing and matching.

Spring’s play on leather is another exciting trend, and Sun showed laser-cut leather pieces that were both breathtaking and bold without being over-the-top. A perfect balance, I must say!
