Lorde

OCCUPATION: Singer

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her infectious hit "Royals," which reached the top spot on both Billboard's Hot 100 list (making her the first New Zealand solo artist to have a number one song in the U.S.) and iTunes.

WHY WE LOVE HER: As if it's not enough that every track from her debut album Pure Heroine has been stuck in our heads for the past month, Lorde (née Ella Yelich-O'Connor) also possesses one of the most amazing heads of hair in the music industry. Seriously, girl—how'd you get those curls?!

WHAT'S NEXT: More tour dates to promote Pure Heroine—oh, and finishing high school (the girl only just turned 17!).

Holliday Grainger

OCCUPATION: British actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: Just 25, she's already landed a handful of historical mega-roles, including Machiavellian royalty Lucrezia Borgia in Showtime's The Borgias.

WHY WE LOVE HER: With killer acting chops, the most humble demeanor and clean, daring style to boot, this Brit is the best kind of triple threat.

WHAT'S NEXT: Holliday was tapped to star as Bonnie Parker in the highly anticipated miniseries Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive, to be aired on not one, but three networks.

Devon Windsor

OCCUPATION: Model

BEST KNOWN FOR: There must be something in those St. Louis waters (ahem, Karlie Kloss!), because 19-year-old Devon completely owned the European runways at Spring 2014 fashion month.

WHY WE LOVE HER: The onetime commercial girl transitioned to an edgier look this year, bleaching her hair and brows to a cool platinum shade.

WHAT'S NEXT: 2013 gave her lookbooks for Versace and Moschino, but we sense an explosion of both print and runway gigs in this girl's future.

Dakota Johnson

OCCUPATION: Actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: Roles in The Social Network (she was the girl who introduced Justin Timberlake's Sean Parker to Facebook!), 21 Jump Street and The Five-Year Engagement.

WHY WE LOVE HER: She counts Melanie Griffith as her mom and Antonio Banderas as her stepfather, but seems remarkably down-to-earth for a girl with Hollywood so deeply ingrained into her DNA.

WHAT'S NEXT: America, meet your Anastasia Steele. As the newly-cast female lead of the upcoming film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota's poised to become a household name in no time.

OCCUPATION: Featured player on her second season of Saturday Night Live

BEST KNOWN FOR: After holding court as the funniest girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party, Cecily joined SNL's Weekend Update as its first female cohost since Amy Poehler in 2008.

WHY WE LOVE HER: After Seth Meyers leaves Saturday Night Live to host Late Night in January, we're confident Cecily will usher in a new era for SNL femmes.

WHAT'S NEXT: After her first show at the Update desk, a certain legend sent her congratulatory flowers—with a note signed "Poehler."

Kilo Kish

OCCUPATION: Brooklyn-residing rapper and general girl-about-town

BEST KNOWN FOR: The 23-year-old might be a DJ, vocalist, songwriter, painter, designer and model—but it was her 2012 EP Homeschool that catapulted her into insider hip-hop fame.

WHY WE LOVE HER: With an expert eye for patterns (she has a degree in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Technology), Kish's style embodies an artistic vibe. Oh, and her music rocks.

WHAT'S NEXT: With a groovy new mixtape up for grabs on her Tumblr, there's a whole lot more of her tunes coming our way.

Margot Robbie

OCCUPATION: Actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: If you're an Aussie, you might recognize Margot from the long-running soap Neighbours; she also recently played the gorgeous-but-unattainable Charlotte in About Time. Oh, and she's that girl with money taped to her (perfect) body in the Wolf of Wall Street trailer.

WHY WE LOVE HER: If she's got Martin Scorsese's stamp of approval, she's got ours. Also, we can never have too many Aussie beauties to obsess over (see also: Miranda Kerr, Naomi Watts, Rose Byrne).

WHAT'S NEXT: Margot is currently filming the heist film Focus alongside Will Smith.

Katie Ermilio

OCCUPATION: Designer

BEST KNOWN FOR: Ballgowns, party dresses and full, pleated skirts. (And for being the granddaughter of Grace Kelly's clothier—sewing skills run in her blood!)

WHY WE LOVE HER: Although Katie's signature style is unwaveringly feminine, her designs never feel frou-frou.

WHAT'S NEXT: She rolled out a limited-edition collection for Barneys earlier this year…could a fast fashion collaboration be next?

Ellen van Dusen

OCCUPATION: Designer

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her keen eye for geometric prints, great fabric and architectural shapes.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Besides always picking patterns that make us smile, Ellen's signature boxy silhouettes are universally flattering. We wouldn't survive summer without her waistless shirt dresses!

WHAT'S NEXT: Now that Dusen Dusen has both its own e-commerce site and a digital storefront on Of a Kind's "Collections" page, here's hoping a brick-and-mortar location will follow.

Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel

OCCUPATION: Co-designers of the leather accessories brand Mansur Gavriel

BEST KNOWN FOR: Sleek, minimalist leather bucket bags and totes that the fashion community can't get enough of.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: For making timeless, insanely high-quality leather goods at a price we can afford—nothing in their line costs more than $500!

WHAT'S NEXT: It probably won't be long until more stores pick up this label, seeing as how the pieces are all but guaranteed to sell out.

Gia Coppola

OCCUPATION: Filmmaker

BEST KNOWN FOR: Finding her voice as a screenwriter and director without any help from her very famous filmmaking family (Francis Ford and Sofia, anyone?).

WHY WE LOVE HER: Despite her many industry connections, Gia worked her way up the Hollywood ladder like any aspiring filmmaker: by gaining experience first as an assistant, and then with smaller projects—like the short film she made for Los Angeles label Wren last year.

WHAT'S NEXT: After writing, directing and debuting her first feature-length film, Palo Alto, she'll surely be starting another indie movie soon. We can't wait!

Gia Coppola
Emily Ratajkowski

OCCUPATION: Model, actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: Stealing every scene in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" video with her naked dancing.

WHY WE LOVE HER: For not letting her infamous nude performance define her career. Rather than going the sexy swimsuit model route, she's been working with Rag & Bone on its DIY campaign series—and on her first major film role in the upcoming film Gone Girl, where she'll star opposite Ben Affleck.

WHAT'S NEXT: When Gone Girl premieres, we'll get the chance to see if Emily has staying power as an actress. Considering her command of the screen in "Blurred Lines," we'd say the answer is yes.

Emily Ratajkowski
Suki Waterhouse

OCCUPATION: Model, actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: Being Burberry's newest campaign face, gallavanting around London with her BFFs Cara Delevingne and Georgia May Jagger. She also happens to be actor Bradley Cooper's long-distance sweetheart.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Suki's an undeniable style chameleon who looks just as sharp in a shearling moto jacket and jeans as she does in a petal pink evening dress. Plus, her eyebrows are among the best in the biz.

WHAT'S NEXT: Acting-wise, you can catch Suki alongside Lily Collins and Catching Fire's Sam Claflin in the romcom Love, Rosie next year. On the modeling front, Burberry's got a reputation for turning its campaign girls into bona fide superstars (see: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Edie Campbell, the aforementioned Cara D.), so it's only a matter of time before Suki hits it big.

Lupita Nyong'o

OCCUPATION: Actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her heartbreaking performance as Patsey in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, which is already gathering Oscar buzz.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Throughout her film's press tour, Lupita wore looks from Prada, Lanvin, Christopher Kane, Rodarte and Erdem more beautifully and confidently than most runway models. She's also a graduate of the Yale School of Drama—hello, beauty and brains!

WHAT'S NEXT: She'll be starring alongside industry vets Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery in the action thriller Non-Stop in 2014.

Chloe Nørgaard

OCCUPATION: Model

BEST KNOWN FOR: That crazy rainbow-hued hair—no head's as instantly recognizable on the runway as Chloe's. You might've also spotted her in Benetton's super-colorful Fall 2013 campaign, or in shoots for Forever 21 and Nasty Gal.

WHY WE LOVE HER: In a sea of straight-faced models, Chloe's ever-changing dye job (she reportedly first began coloring her hair in elementary school!), smattering of tattoos and perma-smile light up every catwalk and magazine page she graces.

WHAT'S NEXT: Chloe made her NYFW debut in Rodarte's Fall 2013 show; is a campaign for the Mulleavys too much to hope for?

Adèle Exarchopoulos

OCCUPATION: Actress, Miu Miu's newest campaign face

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her remarkable role in the controversial French film Blue Is the Warmest Color, which took home the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

WHY WE LOVE HER: We first took notice of Adèle at Cannes, where she wowed us in looks from the likes Balmain and Gucci. We think she's destined for the same sort of international stardom as Lea Seydoux, her Blue costar.

WHAT'S NEXT: Prior to her being cast in Blue, Adèle was famous amongst international audiences for her work in French films La Rafle and Les enfants de Timpelbach. She'll next return to the world of Gallic cinema in 2014's Qui Vive.

Kelela

OCCUPATION: Singer

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her voice—and that hair!

WHY WE LOVE HER: Honestly, we first fell in love with Kelela's dreads, but quickly fell even more in love with her music. After successfully dominating The Fader Fort and CMJ, there's no denying her skill. Our current favorite is "Do it Again," but the entire Cut 4 Me mixtape is worth your time.

WHAT'S NEXT: We can only hope she follows in the footsteps of Solange Knowles and Janelle Monae. Only bigger.

Langley Fox

OCCUPATION: Artist

BEST KNOWN FOR: Skill with a sketchbook.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Creativity runs in Langley's family. She's the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway and her mother is actress Mariel Hemingway. As a child, Langley stomped around in combat boots and a Minnie Mouse dress, which is clearly amazing. But most of all, we love her for parlaying her passion into a successful career.

WHAT'S NEXT: Please Langley, please bring us a coffee table book full of your sketches.

Langley Fox
Nicole Warne

OCCUPATION: Blogger, Gary Pepper Girl

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her incredible outfits.

WHY WE LOVE HER: It seems like every time we catch up with Nicole on her site, we lose hours of productivity. Every picture is like a fantasy, styled by a girl who definitely knows what she's doing. More than anything, we just want to be her best friend/travel companion.

WHAT'S NEXT: From the looks of it, Nicole shows no signs of slowing down. With this kind of momentum, she's set to become a full-blown stylist or perhaps even an editor.

Soo Joo Park

OCCUPATION: Model

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her amazing blonde hair and catwalk prowess.

WHY WE LOVE HER: After having hung out with Soo Joo a few times, we've concluded that she's the most down-to-earth model around. Plus, any girl who finds time to rehearse with her band (yes, she's in a band, too!) in between shoots knows what's up.

WHAT'S NEXT: Covers, runways and global mega-model-stardom.

Amirah Kassem

OCCUPATION: The baker extraordinaire behind New York's Flour Shop

BEST KNOWN FOR: Those crazy custom cakes.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Amirah has an eclectic style; you're just as likely to spot her in something from Stella McCartney as in a vintage Disney World t-shirt. She's become a fixture at fashion events, but not in the way you'd think. Amirah's usually behind a counter serving up her sugary-sweet, highly addicting and absurdly delicious baked goods.

WHAT'S NEXT: With all the attention Amirah's getting, we can only hope that she's ordained fashion's official baker. Short of that, a brick-and-mortar Flour Shop near our office would suffice.

Amirah Kassem
Nellie Partow

OCCUPATION: Designer

BEST KNOWN FOR: Her behind-the-scenes design work at Donna Karan and Calvin Klein; more recently, for the stunning three collections she's created under her own namesake label.

WHY WE LOVE HER: In addition to her sartorial signatures—monochromatic separates, sharp coats and elaborate knits—Nellie's also a knockout in the boxing ring. In 2007, she won the New York Daily News Golden Gloves championship!

WHAT'S NEXT: E-commerce? Pretty please?

Bella Heathcote

OCCUPATION: Actress

BEST KNOWN FOR: This Australian beauty may gotten her start on a soap opera, but her big break came from Tim Burton when he cast her in his spooky 2012 flick Dark Shadows.

WHY WE LOVE HER: Not only does Bella have a penchant for fabulous haute couture (namely Chanel), but she's also made nice with a few of fashion's finest fixtures (namely Karl Lagerfeld).

WHAT'S NEXT: Her latest film, The Curse of Downers Grove, is currently in post-production.
